I'm a 26-year-old graduate from Long Stratton in South Norfolk, and have spent time living in both Aberystwyth (mid-Wales) and Darmstadt (Germany). In 2012, I completed an undergraduate degree in European Studies and German. From November 2015 to September 2016, I was working as a dispensary clerk at the Lawns Medical Practice in Diss.
I am currently studying for an MA in Sociolinguistics at the University of Essex.
I am a fluent speaker of both English (native) and German (second language). In my free time, I enjoy music, travelling, writing, gaming, playing the flute, cartography and politics.
Politically, I am a pro-EU left-liberal green. I am the Treasurer of the University of Essex Young Greens, and have campaigned for the Green Party in South Norfolk and Norwich, having been a Liberal Democrat activist in the past. I have stood in various local elections in both South Norfolk (2011, 2013 and 2015) and Cereidigion (2012).
I have taken part in the vInspired's volunteering project TeamV, for volunteers aged 18 to 25, campaigning to increase awareness of food poverty and food banks.
From February 2013 to February 2014, I worked as a volunteer for the Teacher Scientist Network (TSN) based at the John Innes Centre (the photograph of me below is taken from their website), and I have also worked as a volunteer for the Norfolk and Norwich Association for the Blind (NNAB).
Working at TSN, based at the John Innes Centre, 2013.
